Resumen
Reflexiona sobre el estudio de manuscritos de los siglos XIII y XIV inacabados o ya fragmentarios, distanciándose de otros acercamientos que se acercan a ellos para estudiar los usos que se les dio en tiempos más cercanos por lectores modernos y considerando reconstruir «the thread of meanings and feelings created around these works in the past: what they could have looked like if accomplished and how they may have finally arrived to acquire their present form, without forgetting the analysis of the effects they would have caused in their intended addressees» (p. 223). La autora se interesa de manera particular por aquellos manuscritos realizados en entorno real, como los que conservan la Estoria de España alfonsí (San Lorenzo de El Escorial, Real Monasterio ms. X.I.4 y Y.I.2) o la Crónica Troyana (Escorial h.I.6)
