Propuesta de una nueva clasificación y nomenclatura de la escritura humanística, siguiendo el modelo desarrollado para la escritura gótica por G. I. Lieftinck y J. P. Gumbert (en A. Derolez, The Palaeography of Gothic Manuscript Books From the Twelfth to the Early Sixteenth Century, Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 2003). Para la humanística se distingue tres tipos básicos: humanistica textualis, humanistica semitextualis y humanistica cursiva
