Resumen
El artículo constituye una importante aportación a nuestros conocimientos sobre la fortuna de la obra de Juan de Mena a lo largo del siglo XVI. El análisis se centra de hecho en las tradiciones editoriales de las obras del cordobés desde 1483 hasta 1590, evidenciando su distribución cronológica y
geográfica y señalando con especial atención la mise en recueil de la obra poética. La autora examina también la mise en page de las ediciones, particularmente las de Amberes de 1552 y concluye: «The typographical/esthetic impact of the Antwerp editions of 1552 is clear, and, in these editions, the integration of Mena’s works into the ideology and esthetic of Renaissance culture and literature was signaled by both the editing and the typography of his works, their mise en recueil
and their mise en page at the ebullient center of power of the Habsburg empire. With the downplaying of erudition, and its locus in the commentaries to Mena’s works, early modern editions of Mena cease, and his works only reappear, again in the context of erudition, in the eighteenth-century recuperation of the autochthonous Spanish literary tradition, reprinted in the complete works of El Brocense and in historical anthologies of Spanish poetry, notably in the Cancionero general del siglo xv (MN13)» (p. 24)
