L'article examina els indicis de protocols de lectura i escriptura estesos entre els segles XIII i XIV que es detecten en l'Arbre de filosofia d'amor (1298) de Ramon Llull. D'acord amb les teories de translatio studii et imperii, l'autora mostra com Llull promou la formació del saber i expandeix els límits del contacte religiós, lingüístic, cultural i geogràfic
