El autor se detiene en dos textos escritos compuestos ambos en la ciudad de Arévalo (Castilla) en el siglo XV, uno atribuido al musulmán conocido como Mancebo de Arévalo y otro a un judío, Yosef ibn Ṣaddiq con el objetivo de identificar los elementos estilísticos, retóricos y literarios de las tradiciones historiográficas sobre la reputación de la ciudad. Se busca, en fin, las afinidades y elementos comunes en sus actitudes
