Resumen
El objetivo de la autora es examinar las prácticas poéticas del siglo XV desde el punto de vista de las teorías retóricas y poéticas del maldecir durante el período, tanto en latín como en lengua vernácula. Señala que «rather than study slanderous poetry as the marginal work of court jesters or professional buffoons, these pages seek to establish the theoretical framework within which poets explored the social and literary uses of slander, while establishing strong personal and authorial identities. This approach invites the reconceptualization of poetic marginality and mockery as a key rhetorical practice whose elasticity helps it move between argins and center» (p. 239)
